"Ded na si Lolo" is Philippines' entry to the 2010 Oscar Awards

The Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) has announced that Soxie Topacio's dramedy "Ded na si Lolo" is the Philippines' entry to the 82nd Academy Awards’ best foreign language film category next year.

This APT Entertainment produced film, who also received a grade "A" rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) bested eleven other Pinoy films like:

"Ded na si Lolo" depicts Filipino superstitions regarding death. Cast includes BJ Forbes, Elizabeth Oropesa, Gina Alajar, Roderick Paulate, Manilyn Reynes, Rainier Castillo, and Dick Israel.

Judy Ann Santos “Ploning" was the Philippines' entry to the 2009 Oscar Awards.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be on March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre.

John Prats and BJ Forbes are TV5's "Moomoo & Me"

Actor John Prats is exploring new project outside his mother network ABS-CBN. The Kapamilya network allowed John to do a sitcom in TV5 entitled "Moomoo & Me" with BJ "Tolits" Forbes.

It the upcoming sitcom, John plays Oscar the ghost who will be friends with Junjun (BJ) and they will engage in different adventures.

Cast includes William Martinez, Yayo Aguila, Saab Magalona, Tiya Pusit, IC Mendoza, Empoy, Celine Lim, Paul Salas and Benjie Felipe.

Helm by Soxy Topacio and premieres on September 10, 8:00 PM.
