Charice upcoming GMA-7 TV special "Charice: Home for Valentines"

International singing sensation Charice returns home to the Philippines to finish her commitment to do a Valentine TV special for GMA-7.

Charice is supposed to shoot a Christmas special last year entitled "Charice: Home for Christmas" but due to unfortunate health circumstances, the Christmas musical special is postponed.

Joining her in this GMA-7 special are Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go, Michael V and Elmo Magalona.

February 13 is the said airing date of "Charice: Home for Valentines".

Charice is one of EW's "11 to Watch in 2011"

Expect bigger things to the flourishing career of singing sensation Charice for this year 2011. Even Entertainment Weekly included her in its "11 to Watch in 2011"!

At no. 9 spot, EW wrote:

"YouTube, Ellen, and Oprah may have helped bring us this pint-size star with the powerhouse pipes, but the 18-year-old (last name: Pempengco) made her own splash on Glee's season 2 premiere playing Sunshine Corazon. She'll be back this spring to wow us."

“Black Eyed Peas” apl.de.ap wants to collaborate with Charice

“Black Eyed Peas” member apl.de.ap is currently in the Philippines to celebrate Christmas holiday plus he will be doing a series of benefit club tour in Manila, Cebu at Pampanga. He recently revealed that he's looking forward to working with singing sensation Charice.

In his interview via ABS-CBN News, the 36-year-old performer confessed that he would love to collaborate with Charice, who has the same rags-to-riches story.

Meanwhile, apl.de.ap (real name: Allan Pineda Lindo Jr.) will also continue their holiday tradition of giving gifts with the less privileged.

Charice’s ‘Pyramid’ at No. 4 in Yahoo’s Most Irresistible; Justin Bieber's Baby at no.1

Another recognition for singing sensation Charice for her hit song "Pyramid" which is included in "Yahoo's 2010 Year in Review: Most Irresistible Lyrics."

"Pyramid" ranked No. 4 and according to Kimberly Chun, the young singer takes her homegrown yet polished breed of gospel-tinged pop-R&B out to play, gaining mainstream radio airplay and a big hand from Oprah Winfrey, who dubbed her the "most talented girl in the world."

Charice sings 'Jingle Bell Rock' at Rockefeller Center (Video)

Despite the little technical glitch at the start, Charice performed well delivering another great vocal performance singing the classic “Jingle Bell Rock” at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting  in New York City (November 30) ). [Video Below]

It is the lighting of the most famous Christmas tree, a 12-ton, 74-foot Norway Spruce surrounded by 30,000 lights.

Charice's Christmas special on GMA-7 is postponed!

Charice will be doing a Christmas TV special on GMA-7 network but due to unfortunate health circumstances, the Christmas musical special is postponed. Despite the slight bump, GMA-7 announced that Charice will be doing a different TV Special when she return home. 

GMA Network today received an official statement from Ms. Grace Mendoza, manager of Charice Pempengco on the postponement of the singing star’s television performances and commitments in the Philippines.

“Filipino singing star Charice will not be returning to her homeland this weekend for several previously announced tv performances and appearances. The singer, according to her physician, is "suffering from dehydration caused by a recent stomach flu."

"I want to apologize for disappointing my fans and supporters in the Philippines but I have been advised by my doctor to rest for the next couple of days," commented Charice.

GMA Network regrets not being able to do the planned Christmas special with Charice at this time but understands that her well being is first and foremost. The Network on the other hand is glad to announce to all her fans and followers that Charice has committed to do a TV Special with the Kapuso Network as soon as she is able to come home. - via GMA Network

More blessing continues to land in the hands of international singing sensation Charice. Her self-titled international album in Japan is now certified gold.

Charice tweeted the good news and thanks her fans for the support, "Chyeaa! My Album "Charice" is now certified GOLD in Japan! Thank you so much for the support!!! Japan, thank you so much :)"

Charice's album includes the single "Crescent Moon," an English rendition of the hit Japanese song "Mikazuki".

Meanwhile, Charice is receiving good reviews in her first episode appearnace in the hit TV musical drama "Glee" and many are now waiting for her future episodes in the said series.

The hit musical drama "Glee" returns for the second season and they debut one of the fast-rising young intentional talent, Charice. 

Charice did a duet face-off with Lea Michelle singing "Telephone" and Charice also sung Beyonce's "Listen"as she auditioned for the "New Directions".

Charice plays Sunshine Corazon, a Filipino exchange student who wants to join the Glee Club and a rival for Lea Michelle's controlling diva character "Rachel Berry".

Newsweek on Charice: "Asia's rising pop star"

Newsweek magazine's Sonia Kolesnikov-Jessop described the newest "Glee" member/International singing Sensation Charice as ‘Asia’s Rising Pop Star’

The article talks about her amazing singing talent in which David Foster reminds him of a young Celine Dion. David says, "she will put the whole of Asia on the map as a huge global superstar.”

Aside from her talent, Sonia Kolesnikov-Jessop thinks her bio is very marketable, tracing Charice’s life from  a very young singer who joined different amateur singing competitions to a rising star in the international scene.

Her U.S. debut album, titled simply Charice, was the first by an Asian singer to make it to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart in May.

17: Are you a big fan of Glee?

Charice: I love the show. I am more into things like CSI, but then Glee started and I was like, "Oh this is different." When the rumor came out [that I was going to be on Glee before I knew I about it], I was like this is the best rumor ever! I'm excited, but I'm also so nervous to be on it.

17: What did you sing for the audition?

Charice: I sang my song called "In This Song." David Foster wrote the song for me. I thought that I should sing a ballad song. I thought they would love it.

17: You have achieved things that so many people dream of. Do you have any other dreams you are hoping will happen?

Charice: I want to have a record with Beyonce or Lady Gaga. They are both my inspirations. Especially Beyonce. She's like number 1 right now because I love everything about her. Her fashion, her style, her attitude when it comes to singing. She's perfect.

17: Do you want to sing forever?

Charice: I don't want to stay a singer forever. I want to fulfill my dream career as a lawyer! It's a crazy busy schedule, but I still have two hours a day for school because it's a priority. I’ll be in court and be like (singing) "Objection!" But I want to be an entertainment lawyer so I'll be in the business still.

Charice undergoes cosmetic procedure for Glee Debut; The procedure is "not to change her appearance", rep. says

Singing sensation Charice Pempengco is really pushing the level up as she prepares her stint in the hit musical drama "Glee".

The 18-year-old Filipino singer is getting non-invasive cosmetic makeover for her Glee debut. She received Botox injections and underwent Thermage anti-aging procedure.

According to celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, the procedure were part of an effort to make her "naturally round face" more narrow.

Charice said, "All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry (played by Lea Michele)? So of course there is tremendous pressure."

In a new development, a rep. for Charice release a statement denying the Botox is to change her appearance. The reason for the procedure is "to relieve a jaw problem similar to TMJ."

"It did not hurt; it relieved the pain," Charice's rep tells Us. "You've seen her face - she doesn't have a wrinkle in it so she wouldn't need it for cosmetic purposes. The Glee people are thrilled with the way she looks which is why she got the part."

International singing sensation and upcoming "Glee" star Charice visited GMA-7's noontime show "Eat Bulaga" for the first time and she was welcomed with open arms and thrilling excitement from the host and the fans. (July 17) [VIDEO BELOW]

Charice's performance in "Eat Bulaga" was a part of a special opening number which also features actress Iza Calzado, comedienne Ruby Rodriguez, Julia Clarete and air acrobatic stunt of actress Pauleen Luna.

The highlight is Charice singing her latest hit single "Pyramid". BTW, respected TV host Joey De Leon personally gave a thumbs up to Charice. Joey was really amazed with Charice talent and achievement.

Charice said in an interview, "“Iba, iba po talaga. Ang sarap ng reaksiyon ng mga tao kanina. And nakakatuwa yung mga host, sobrang babait po nila." (It was different. It was totally different. The audience's reaction was really nice. And the hosts were very heartwarming and funny, they were really nice.)

GMA's Nelson Canlas reported that veteran host/comedian Joey de Leon admits that he is a big fan of Charice. He even knocked on the door of Charice's dressing room to get a picture with her.

Joey de Leon said, “Yung mga imported hindi ko pinapansin, (pero) ito" (I ignore imported stuff, but this one's different.)

Teen singing sensation and upcoming "Glee" star Charice will return to the show that made her an instant YouTube sensation and later on was invited by Ellen DeGeneres to guest on her show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".

The 18 year-old singer tweeted, "I got discovered because of this show.. Star King.. and now, I'm going back to Star King this July 24 to show my love for them! Korea!!!! :)"

In 2007, Charice became a hit as she amazed the audience and televiewers of Star King with her performance of “And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going”). Many are calling her as the "Little Whitney Houston". She is just 15 years-old that time. A

After her guesting in "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", Charice returned to Star King for the second time in the December 28 episode of the show. She WOWS again the audience by singing "I Will Survive" and "I Will Always Love You".

According to EW, She will play the role of a “foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder.”

Charice also confirmed it via Twitter, "It's official. I'm on Glee (next season) but story behind it. When the rumor came out, it wasn't true."
