Actor Kal Penn, popularly known as Kumar in the movie "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" was robbed at gunpoint in Washington, D.C.
Kal Penn (real name: Kalpen Modi) is currently working in the White House's Office of Public Liaison. His government duties is to connect President Barack Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities.
Meanwhile, he is scheduled to return to Hollywood later this year to reprise his role in a new "Harold and Kumar" Christmas movie.

According to TMZ, Penn claims a man carrying a gun approached him around 1:20 AM and took his wallet and other personal property.Authorities said that it was "a basic street robbery."
