Michael Douglas on his throat cancer: "I'll beat this."

Michael Douglas is very positive and optimistic that he can surpass his throat cancer.

The 65 year-old actor tells PEOPLE, he is resolutely determined to overcome his diagnosis: "I'll beat this."

He will undergo weeks of treatment via radiation and chemotherapy.

Douglas has been married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jonas for almost ten years. The couple has two kids: Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7.
