Billy Joel on daughter Alexa: "She is going to be fine"

Alexa Ray Joel is now out of St. Vincent's Hospital and her father/piano man Billy Joel released a simple statement, "She is going to be fine".

Alexa Ray was rushed to the hospital after she swallowing too many pills in a possible suicide attempt due to her frustration with relationships.

Billy Joel’s daughter Alexa Ray Joel was Hospitalized for pill overdose

Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of music icon Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley was rushed to the hospital for a possible pill overdose in New York, Saturday (December 5). Emergency call came from Alexa’s apartment and the paramedics found Alexa having difficulty in breathing.

A 911 call came in from Alexa's Big Apple apartment at 12:19 pm. A female caller told the dispatcher she had "taken pills." Paramedics responded and found her having difficulty breathing. Alexa was taken to New York's St. Vincent's Hospital.

Billy’s publicist said in a statement that currently she is now in stable condition: “Alexa is stable. Her doctors are assessing her needs and that’s all we can say this moment.”

Alexa is scheduled to appear in a tree-lighting ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange this Thursday, Dec. 10.

Billy Joel and Katie Lee Joel decided to split up

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel and Katie Lee Joel have decided to end their five year relationship.

The couple's reps. issued a statement via People, "After nearly five years of marriage Billy Joel & Katie Lee Joel have decided to separate. This decision is a result of much thoughtful consideration. Billy & Katie remain caring friends with admiration and respect for each other."

Buzzing report that allegedly 36-year-old Israeli-born fashion designer Yigal Azrouel was involved in this break up.

Billy and Katie tied the knot in 2004 at Billy's 15-acre waterfront Center Island estate in Long Island, New York.
