Nicollette Sheridan Drops Abuse Claims in $20 million Lawsuit

Nicollette Sheridan decided to drop her major claims in her $20 million lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry. The 47 year-old actress will no longer used the physical and emotional abuse claims on her case.

In exchange in dropping the abuse allegations, Sheridan won't have to submit to a mental or physical examination requested by the defense. Both parties agreed with this stipulation and it was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (December 17).

Downgrading her case, Sheridan still has the right to pursue lost wages, benefits and other financial compensation.

It seems  Marc Cherry's camp made a great move forcing Sheridan to change her mind.

Vanessa Williams joining "Desperate Housewives"

Vanessa Williams is joining the neighborhood of Wisteria Lane as "Desperate Housewives" enters its seventh season. Inking the deal as series regular, Vanessa will deliver her "wicked" ways which will surely spice up the series.

Creator Marc Cherry said, “I’m a big fan of Vanessa’s work and I’m so excited that she’ll be moving into the neighborhood next season to cause trouble in all the ladies’ lives."

Desperate Housewives stars shows support to Marc Cherry

The housewives of Wisteria Lane expresses concern about their show's creator Marc Cherry, who is currently facing assault accusations from Nicollette Sheridan.

Desperate Housewives stars Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria Parker, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman issued a joint statement pledging their support for show creator Marc Cherry.
"It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing. We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicolette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment. It is, in fact, the opposite. The friendships and support that Marc Cherry, the cast, the crew and the producers have shared for the past six years have made this a wonderful job that we are grateful for every day."
Sheridan is suing Marc Cherry for $20 million due to assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. Teri Hatcher gave an extra statement after Sheridan mentioned Hatcher's name in the suit.
"While my adoration and respect for the classic and dynamic chemistry of the characters of Susan and Edie is indelible, I'm honored to stand with Eva, Felicity and Marcia, as a group and clarify that our set environment is nothing less than an amazingly positive experience. I have never felt discriminated against. In fact, I have felt heard and respected by Marc and other executives in regards to both my professional and personal needs."




ABC's reaction on Nicollette Sheridan assault claims

Nicollette Sheridan drop a bomb on her former show "Desperate Housewives" as she is now suing the show's creator Marc Cherry. She claim that Marc Cherry assaulted her on the set and she was fired from the show unfairly.

Sheridan says she reported the incident to ABC, but ABC failed to take action.
According to ET, ABC say about the suit: "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."

The nasty and ugly truth/reason about Nicollette Sheridan's departure in the hit TV series "Desperate Housewives" is now out!

Sheridan is suing the show's creator Marc Cherry after he allegedly struck Sheridan across the head and face on the set, then she was fired.
According to TMZ, Nicollette is suing for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.

Sheridan claims Cherry created a hostile work environment from the get go, "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show."

Sheridan says during the 5th season, Cherry put her in his cross hairs. She claims on September 24, 2008, he physically assaulted her after she questioned him about something in the script. According to the lawsuit, "Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head."
Sheridan reveals that her fellow co-star Teri Hatcher also has problem with the creator. In a previous incident, Teri went above his head to complain about him and the creator allegedly said, "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."

Sheridan is suing Marc Cherry for more than $20 million.

Sheridan aka Edie Britt left Wisteria Lane in the fifth season following her character's death.
