Kris Bernal.in GMA-7's "Koreana", starts October 11

GMA-7 is keeping their afternoon programming interesting presents its first original Sinenovela offering titled "Koreana" lead by Kris Bernal.

A compelling tale about a young girl’s quest for love, closure, and self-actualization, Koreana draws inspiration from Korea’s rich and colorful tradition which has expressly reached Philippine shores, and combines with our very own.

Kris Bernal plays the role of Jenna, a strong-willed and kind-hearted Korean-Filipina who dreams of returning to her roots, and reuniting with her biological family. In preparation for her role, Kris studied the Korean language under a professional coach and took cooking lessons to ensure the authenticity of her acting.

Also in this series, Kris will be also the center of a love triangle between StarStruck Season 5 second prince Rocco Nacino and StarStruck Season 5 Ultimate Male Survivor Steven Silva.

Other cast includes Eddie Garcia, Eula Valdez, Angelu de Leon, Lotlot de Leon, Sylvia Sanchez, Marco Morales, Sab Magalona, Joyce Ching and Ram Revilla.

Koreana begins October 11 after Trudis Liit on GMA Dramarama sa Hapon.




MMFF 2009: "Nobody, Nobody but...Juan” - full trailer

Philippines' King of Comedy Dolphy is headlining the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and his movie entry is "Nobody, Nobody but Juan”.

The original title of the movie is "Juan" but when Wondergirls hit song "Nobody" instantly became a craze, Dolphy himself suggested that they add "Nobody, Nobody" to the title. [SYNOPSIS and TRAILER Below..]
Juan tells the story of US-based Juan (Dolphy), who lives in a senior home run by his son (Eric) and daughter-in-law (G Tongi). Juan’s favorite past-time is watching Wowowee on The Filipino Channel. However, he does not watch the show just for entertainment’s sake. Aside from wanting to connect with the Philippines that he dearly misses, Juan is lonesome for his first love Aida whom he lost touch with during the Japanese Occupation of Manila. Wowowee is Juan’s way of coping with homesickness and reliving the beloved past.

When watching Wowowee is banned in the home, Juan takes drastic measures to watch his favorite TV program. In his quest, he crosses paths with his old friend Tu (Eddie Garcia) who used to be his partner in the vaudeville duo Juan Tu. Pokwang is cast as the partner in crime of Tu.

Cast inludes Eric Quizon, G Toengi, Eddie Garcia, Pokwang, Gloria Romero, Heart Evangelista, Epy Quizon, Vandolph Quizon, Eugene Domingo, and special participation of Willie Revillame.

Co-produce by RVQ Production and Kaizz Ventures and opens on Dec. 25 in theaters nationwide.
